Capacitance based pressure sensors are conventionally used where low pressure measurement is required but with high over pressure capability.  The diaphragm acts as one side of the capacitor and therefore when deformed by applied pressure the capacitance value changes.  The high over pressure capability is achieved by the second capacitor plate (the body of the sensor) acts as a stop which prevents the diaphragm from being over stretched and destroyed.  They are inherantly stable over temperature, have excellent repeatibility and are therefore considered a premium technology for pressure and hydrostatic level measurement.

DSK 702M - 18mm diameter ceramic capacitive pressure sensor

The DSK 702M is the latest development in capacitive pressure sensing technology which offers very low pressure with high over pressure, great thermal stability and a choice of voltage or I2C outputs.  Ranges from 100mbar up to 400 bar available.

DSK 701C - Adjustable ceramic capacitive pressure sensor

The DSK 701C is a fully programmable ceramic pressure sensor using the capacitive measurement technology.  Pressure ranges from 60mbar through to 20 bar but have the ability to be down ranged via the RS-232 interface up to 10 times.  The output is 4-20mA or ratiometric 0.5 to 4.5V dc with several parameters configuarble.
